Have ya seen him?
« on: January 10, 2021, 08:20:17 PM »
Long shot but was hoping to get an actual pic of this buck. If you killed this guy let me know. I have a few years of sheds on this guy. Love to actually see a picture of him. With the later dates snow n early rut I’m sure some one took him in general or late archery.

PM me if you have a lead on him. Thanks Hunt Wa

I’m really just looking for alignment on the antlers. If you killed him he’s with in a mile or two from where I’ve found his last antlers. I’ve found last two sets within 100 yards from the previous year. I’m pretty sure he was killed. Congrats to the guy who did.

Any general GMU the shed came out.  Might help get someone thinking or looking at what they have.

Oh it was within the last 2 months. If archery it was with in 6 weeks. That should narrow it down. Haha

Without a gmu there is no starting point. He has some character, but not enough in my opinion to make him a stand alone deer, depending on what he looked like this year. lots of bucks could possibly  fill the bill, in lots of real estate.

Like more cheaters? He has 5. I’ve not personally seen G1s like his. They’re bladed w mass. Not a lot of 4x3s but who knows. But I think if he’s on your wall and you killed him in WA hes a pretty special buck. Just don’t know if he’s 27/28 or closer to 30.

Heard there was a 180+ killed in the unit. Figured it was him.

Last year , hunting late archery mule deer , I did see a stud of an old buck that had a rack very similar... and one ear ripped right up the middle !    He was with a boat load of does and couldnt get close enough for an ethical shot.   I will pm the gmu , but unfortunately only have the picture in my memories.

Well whatever you do, don’t give the gmu! Great deer, I’ll have to stop there and check it out before he’s done with it

I've seen several harvested bucks and sheds over the last 20 years from multiple Chelan County GMUs with similar bladed G1s and stickers.  I don't know this buck or who killed him.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Was he at 4 point taxidermy?

I think the bases of the antlers would have been a bit wider than how you have it set. The large antlered mule deer skulls I've seen personally-- the bases appeared to be further apart than that.

Edit:  Not a biologist, not an expert etc. just    :twocents:

Some of the bigger bucks we have killed comparable have been anywhere from 2 3/4 inches to 3 1/4 inches measuring across from burr to burr At their closest points. A couple of the bigger heavier ones are right at 3 inches
