I see guys that don't even shoot hitting the shooting pits early in the morning before shooters arrive.  I asked the one guy and he collects up as much brass of all calibers for resale.  He has a dozen or so stops to hit each day.  I can't figure out how he's getting enough to offset the gas to drive around so much.

People must be doing something similar with the i5 corridor. Walmarts along i5 get wiped out of everything in the morning.

If I was looking for ammo I would try to find some small shop as far from the highways as possible.

I pickup brass at 6 spots daily, have buckets of clean shinny brass laying around. Could recycle it and buy ammo, could sell it as clean loadable brass but in my eyes no point to sell a five gallon bucket of 9mm brass if no one has primers to reload it, so it I sit on it. Fuel cost is incurred wether I stop or not since all six spots are along my trapline that I run nightly. Competition is fierce around me to do it to, at least six other people pick the same pits I do daily. Some of them not so savory of characters (tweek tweek) some are nice folks. If the market comes back I'll have a decent stockpile of ammo to load up and practice all I want. If the market doesn't come back I'll scrap it all and buy ammo with it. So win win for me really

There were 4.3 million background checks done in the month of January - more than any other month in history. More than that many firearms can be considered sold, because of multiple purchases on form 4473.

No hoarding needed.
