Info on Wenas area for coyote hunting appreciated.
« on: January 23, 2021, 06:11:35 PM »
Me and a buddy are planning a weekend trip to do some coyote hunting.  Think we have it narrowed down to the Wenas area due to all the public land.  Don't need honey holes, but would appreciate any leads on a good starting place to give some dogs a dirt nap.  You can pm me if you'd like.  Thanks.

That's where the big Evans Canyon fire was. Moonscaped the last time I drove by.

I hunt the area many times a year for other animals, and have never seen a coyote.

Look at forest service ground. Get away from the massive weekend crowds and away from the sno parks.

Also cougar looks open still so shoot them all.

this is the time of year when everyone is a coyote caller. Dogs get wise to it. Plenty of them out there but they get smart this time of year. Plenty killable though just really need to setup smart and steer clear of anything that can get hunted or called at from a road.

We're not afraid to walk.  We've been doing decent here on the wet side.  Just want a change of scenery and an excuse to get away from the house for a few days.
