Not as crazy as some of the others, but, whole blacktail in the mystery ranch a few miles behind a gate. Fun times, doubled down on two three points in a couple hours.
They is where you aint and you aint where they is.

Hind quarter, backstrap, and head. Plenty heavy for the first load. Several more trips to get it all out. Pleasure and pain all mixed in!

It was a pretty epic hunt. Backcountry Idaho, hunting out of the wall tent. I was 3-4 miles from camp when I shot this bull on our first day. I got back well after dark with the first load. The next day on my way in to get another load of elk meat I shot a good 4x4 mule deer. Needless to say, I spent the next few days packing meat. And loving every minute of it!

I had a front and hind quarter in my Kifaru Timberline 2 with a custom meat shelf and a Duplex frame, my brother had the head and front quarter in his Kifaru Timberline 2 and my other brother had a hind quarter and scrap meat bag in his Stone Glacier (not sure what frame and bag). This was a mature bull my brother shot and was approx a 2.5 miles pack out thru sage, timber and blowdown. I'm guessing my load including my pack was 150ish lbs, maybe more. We should have boned the meat out.

Not the heaviest packout after carefully deboning and trimming anything we didn't want (we threw away only about 4lbs of gristle and rind when we processed the meat in my kitchen), but we had to climb 2600 vertical feet to get out of the hole.  The first half mile was up 1000' through thick brush -- it took us 4 hours to go that far.

Here's a couple of my high country WA bucks. High hunt this year and modern last year. 15 and 7 mile packouts respectively. Had my hunting partner with me on the 15er', and solo on the general buck. 90 pounds this year, 114.3 last year. Both scale verified.

3 full quarters, back straps, tenderloins, neck meat, rib meat, and the usual gear for a day’s hunt. The offside front shoulder was boned out cause that 300 grain SST did a number on that thing. Rig was about a mile and a half down hill. First time I had ever had to pack an animal out. I ended up with 65lbs of boned out meat after processing so I figure the pack was around 100lbs with bones and the rest of my gear, food, water, etc.
