Stevens 301 youth .410 is a great rig. Got one in the safe with the same red dot I have on my turkey gun. Setup for TSS if that's your thing or takes regular .410 turkey loads. Comes with a choke which was difficult to find for .410 when we were looking. Hoping to get my son his first turkey with it once he finishes Hunter ED.

20ga Tri-star Raptor youth with after market turkey choke, they use beretta/benelli chokes.  It's an auto, which helps a ton with recoil.

If you were closer I'd show you it let her use it.

My complaint is it's too complicated for a youth and can't bite a thumb pretty easy.  I do all the loading for now.
I also have some misfeed issues with low brass skeet type loads, which I understand will get better with cleaning and break-in.

For the $  I couldn't beat it

I got it to replace a cheap 20ga Charles Daly pump I got from walmart, the recoil was just way too much for a youth.

I'm a fan of the Mossberg 500 youth series of guns.  I've used them for all 3 of my boys and with the accu-chokes, you can use it for multiple purposes.  They've killed turkeys, grouse and rabbits with theirs.  Another benefit, at least for me, is its length.  I use one as a grab and go shotgun often because it is so compact.

How big is your daughter.  We just bought my 13 y.o. Daughter, who is tall for her age, a Stoeger m3020.  It came with a turkey choke and is an inertia auto loader so recoil is manageable.  We patterned it with 2 3/4 inch Remington express XLR #4 and it was patterned awesome.  Nice rig for the money and should last a lifetime.  Patterns 2 3/4 inch chela well to 35 yards which all of are turkeys are shot at half that.

My son shot his first turkey with a 20 gauge youth model 870 Express. Worked like a champ.

Bought 2 Remington 870 youth model 20s for the kids. They patterned them, and used them one year. The next year they shot my 1187 and liked it so much more. The semiauto had less recoil even in the 12 ga. You may find you do not need a new gun for them as a youth specific. My son was a very small kid and still preferred the 12.

I just got my son a Weatherby SA-08 Youth 20 ga for turkey this year. At 6lbs and semi auto he shoots it great. 24” barrel so he will be shooting off a tripod for a couple years before being able to wing shoot with it but it will serve him well long into his late teens. Priced compared to Remington 870 Youth.
Just tend your own and live.

Just got my daughter the stevens 301 turkey .410 and topped it with a reflex sight. This thing is amazing, I might use it for my birds too.

I have heard goods things about the Stevens 301. Wife uses a Benelli Nova 20 ga. and loves it over her 879 20.  She says the Benneli kicks much less than the 870.
