Alaska Fishing for professional Drywall work
« on: February 17, 2021, 03:28:02 PM »
Here's the deal, I'm reaching out for a good friend of mine so I'd be more of a go between.  Any deal would have to be made with him.  He is building a small home in Yakutat Alaska (look it up, some of the best Halibut, salmon and steelhead fishing in Alaska) this summer, around 1350 square foot.  Wants to have it framed, roofed and sided this summer.  He has talked about getting with someone that is interested in going up for a long weekend, or how ever long it takes to drywall in the place.  Completely done with mud and tape.  He would be on sight with that said person.  He already has a finished cabin in Yakutat that sleeps 6 people.  He is talking about a trade of the drywall work for a long weekend up there at another date for fishing.  He would take care of the flight up and back for the work.  Would need to be someone that actually does drywall work now or in the past and can show evidence of good work.  He has been going to Yakutat for 25+ years and knows all the rivers and has contacts for Charter fishing.  Anyone interested or know anyone that might be??

Does not have to be this year, in fact use of property would be better next year or after

I know a father and son that can do it. I will reach out to them. And you are correct about the fishing. I have been there for haliband Sockeye. We landed over 1000 fish between the 6 of us over a 2 day period on the river. It was unreal.

Called my buddy. It would take a couple days to hang. Then to mud and tape would take at least a week because it has to dry between coats then sand. That's if you want it done right anyway.

I'll get with my Buddy and let you know.  We could probably do the sanding (F***ing sucks to do!) but I'll let him make the call.  I'll get back to you highside

Just tape, mud and sand? Finish? Smooth wall or textured?

If someone else is interested just let me know.  Nothing has been setup yet

Hell!  If anyone on here is an architect and wants to draw up plans for a place I'm sure he'd throw in a lot more time.  He's still looking for plans that he likes

no boat, he's a river guy.  I've never been but am going on a Halibut charter this August.  Nice about Yak is the halibut catch is 2 per person.  Been told they average about 60 lbs.   Lots of charters up there

Highside's friends decided to pass so still looking for anyone interested.  My Buddy is talking about a week of use of the home for fishing once completed.  Typical hotel rooms in the area are about $300 per night so it's a good deal
