OK, but are they actually going to do it? Because if they do then they can be charged with interfering with a federal officer. It doesn't mater whether they do it or a regular citizen does it, they can be arrested and brought up on federal charges. Now maybe the local sheriff's office will stop any arrest, but good luck once that deputy leaves the county, the feds will just arrest you then. And then you're screwed. Now if every sheriff's office, state and city police would do the same thing then it would be the feds that were screwed.

Exactly.

It's all political posturing to support their base. It happens every time there's a democrat in the Oval Office. Sheriff/County commissions come out saying they'll charge/arrest feds for closing roads on fed lands, seizing guns, whatever the hot topic of the time is. Everybody gets excited, articles get written, etc. Its gone on for decades. Number of feds actually arrested: 0

It happened here in WA in the mid-90s after Waco and Ruby Ridge. The Okanogan County Commissioners enacted an ordinance requiring federal officers to get approval from the Sheriff before they do anything in the county. The Commissioner's did this without consulting with the Sheriff and when the Sheriff was interviewed by the press he actually laughed about it and said he doesn't have any authority over federal officers. A few weeks later the Commissioners repealed the ordinance.
