Pack to carry out dog?
[/quote]
On my list for next year...they can be a game/life changer. My sister runs an HRD dog in Oregon...I will have her send me her complete list and post. All the suggestions have been great...packing a kit for my dog is similar to what I pack for my human kids...my dog is like another child in my opinion... I don't mind the extra weight to make sure I am ready to save her life

Quick clot or new skin for cuts. I talked to a grouse hunter this year and he said his dog died from a rattlesnake bite because he was way up on top of the mountian and by the time he got down and then drove all the way into town the vet didn't have any anti-venom by then it was too late so i'm not sure if you can buy and carry anti-venom or not but always on my mind.

They have a shot you can get for your dogs for rattlesnakes. Supposed to help if they get bit.

Last season my dog came limping back from a retrieve and had a russian olive type thorn literally in the bottom and out the top of his upper paw around where the joint is and above the pads in the foot. Without a good multi tool we would still be out there... luckily the thorn and the wilderness first aid thorn removal didn't damage anything.
