Date with a mechanic final update!
« on: March 30, 2021, 11:11:11 AM »
Monday when I was fishing. I was going up the river to make another troll downhill. My main motor started making some strange noises. Real quick it just started clanking and rattling. So I turned it off. Water pump seems to be working peeing water. Just not sure what was going on with the motor. So we use the kicker to get in to the ramp. Came home put on the mickey ears put the motor in gear and put the foot on the propeller and you could hear it grind. So I’m not sure what it is Maybe bearings? Have a date Tuesday, April 6 will see what happens and how long it takes. Motor is a 2019 Yamaha 115 should be under warranty. I hope😉🥃🇺🇸

Lower unit is shot, bad seal. Along with not having an o ring on the drain plug. Jury is still out on who’s paying. More than likely me. I find it hard to believe I didn’t replace the O-ring when changing the oil in the lower unit. That’s what their saying anyways. Should know by the end of the day who pays.

Just contacted Clemens Marine. Yamaha is paying $1440  Said they’re waiting on a part eta unk. 😉🥃🇺🇸

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.

If it's under warranty, I would let them deal with it.  Not too much in there, only bearings and gears and oil.

Bummer.  Just as its picking up, five days until the river closure.  Are you going to go out on just the trolling motor?  Thats happened to me twice fall fishing.  One year the main, next year the trolling motor.  Agonizing!

No I thought about it and decided to wait for the repair. They’ll be more fishing. I hope😉🥃🇺🇸

Hopefully they can get the part in soon.  I had to wait almost 5 months for a spark plug wire.

Those o-rings are obnoxious, I'm going to order in about a hundred so I always have some on hand as you go through 4 every time you change lower unit oil on both motors.
