Take the WDFW beaver survey

WDFW Chehalis Basin Beaver survey
https://publicinput.com/beaver1
Hey, folks the animal rights people are getting their comments in. We need to counteract their input. WDFW is going to be rewriting the Game Management Plan this summer and this will play into beaver management. ARs want to put a halt to beaver trapping.
There are some anti-hunting/trapping questions so let's let them know we support hunting and trapping.
You have to register, click on the little gear top right and it will pull down a register menu, sign in and the survey will come up.

I haven't done the survey or clicked on the link.
I do have mixed feelings about it though.
There was some beaver ponds I fished as a kid,not any more all gone now.
Convince me that leaving a few beaver is a bad thing..........

Nothing wrong at all with having beaver around, I don't think you will find anyone here that will advocate for the eradication of north american beaver. Most here strongly support population control through recreational fur trapping and wildlife control operater work. Without the beavers wco would get a lot less work and recreation trappers wouldn't have anything to harvest. Same as most big game, it's population control and conservation. Harvest the over abundance and remove the problematic. Which is kind of a moot point, with washington's cage trapping rules there are few skilled trappers that could put any sizable dent in a beaver population just using cages. Wcos do a lot of removals requiring permits through the state and still the beaver population is BOOMING. You will never be able to get rid of them completely, iv found beaver colony's vlhigh up in the mountains tucked away from human eyes that continue to thrive. Not to mention once they get smart and trap shy/ human shy there survival instincts will allow them to keep on creating more beaver year after year

I feel this is a goal to reduce trapping. I belive they have an important function but not in town or around people. Holding water up in the mountains is an important thing... but so many clogged culverts flooded feilds and roads a trapper doesnt need to venture far off to trap some.
I fear that reducing trapping is trying to convert more private property to wetlands due to the inability to control beavers.

Done.
A lot of the questions were poorly worded. I’m not sure why they let people from anywhere take the survey.
