Supposedly IDFG are still grappling with this.  I can see some sportsmen getting stuck in the middle of this power struggle.  If I hear anything else, I will be sure to post it here.

Back to the topic, good luck everyone on your draws.  My wife and I are both in for an extra whitetail doe tag.

Will the drew happen this week??
After the debacle that the sheep and goat draw turned into I would expect to be waiting at least 1 more week

Supposedly IDFG are still grappling with this.  I can see some sportsmen getting stuck in the middle of this power struggle.
There is no power struggle...this is decided case law.  The Supreme Court ruled on this exact issue in 1981 (see Montana v. United States) and ruled that Tribes do not have authority to regulate non-member hunting and fishing on non-tribal lands WITHIN an Indian Reservation.  The CDA Tribe does not have jurisdiction over non-tribal lands within the reservation except in extremely narrow applications, mostly laid out in Montana v. United States.

I hate to keep replying to this side topic, but I would hate for misinformation to give any sportsmen doubt about areas they can hunt...whether in Idaho, Montana, Washington, Wyoming...and all the other western states with Indian Reservations.

Good to know, thanks!!!  Probably most of the mis-information/concern is sportsmen chatting amongst ourselves.

 Great information thanks for posting. I heard the same thing as machias on basic fight or disagreement between idfg and the tribe over private within the reservation. Keep posting you’re not derailing a thread that will just be dnry for a while.

I really hope Idaho doesn't do something stupid and give me a tag to purchase. Problem is, I applied for hunts that I'll be sorely tempted to buy anyway.

Who needs a job or a wife right?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I feel like it would be disrespectful to the Tag Gods if I turn down the blessing  :dunno:
