My boy drew youth elk tag, buck tag.  And a buddy drew Mt Emily archery bull tag.

Hate that eastside deer tags went draw for archery!!! What a mess.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

Best get used to it, I've got a feeling all the OTC tags are going to disappear in the near future.  Why sell you a tag OTC when they can force you to apply (for $8) and then sell you that same tag?  Good luck to your son.

Happened to me last year, a sudden influx of high point applicants threw the predictions way off.

This was actually one of our fears. We were at 3.6 point average, tag site said we needed 4 to get it, and at 5 tags we were afraid a few non res hunters would drop in with more points and push us out. However we slipped in and I am okay with that!

Congrats! I have hunted that unit a few times, but not for elk. However we saw elk every time we were in the unit. I can give you a few places to start looking. I will send a pm.

Nothing for me this year, but I only applied for a bighorn tag again (since 1973).  Then my son Luke finally got around to checking his controlled hunt results a couple days ago.  He drew a West Deschutes #2 bighorn sheep tag!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm so stoked for him. Between myself, my two brothers, and my two sons we have close to 200 years of applications for Oregon bighorn and this is the first tag in our family.   I've been on four sheep hunts with other people, but this will be the BEST!    :IBCOOL:

Congrats to your son Treekiller,  I've been trying for a bighorn tag since 1968, not ready to give up yet.

Thanks Rick!  My two brothers both have over 50 years each hoping for a tag.  Just hope the Deschutes canyon doesn't burn up this summer!
