Run the falken wildpeak at3 on my '16 Colorado, lots of life span, think im 50k and lots to go

New - they was great in untracked snow, still aren't terrible with dulled tread corners. Got me in scary far in deeper snow up to 18 inches (fluffy)

Well used - they not so good on tracked snow/ice, they're getting kinda scary in icy backwoods roads that was np when new.

Rocks they're tough

Mud seem fine, I never do deep churning mud but they do fine on normal mud stuff

Highway no issues, rides nice, and not loud.

They beat the heck out of the goodyear wrangler  kevlar the truck came with

Ya, they came stock on my truck.

Had a flat within 500 miles due to rock puncture on gravel road, which ruined the tire,  and wore out by 30k

I said adventure up above, that was wrong, they were the goodyear wrangler durotrac with kevlar came stock on the trail boss, they looked good, had sidewall protection / grippers but ya, rocks went through them and had flats less than 500 miles in and worn out too quickly imo

Still better than most stock tires, but I wouldn't use them again.

Good years are JUNK! I have had them on rigs when I purchased them. They have left me stranded more than once. I’d stay away from them. I run the maxxis bighorns on my Jeep and also ran them on all my Tacoma’s. Good all around tire.

I'm running Super Swamper Trxus MTs on my 98 . Love them in snow , mud , and the street
I  had a set of BFG KM2s on it before that  I bought new after finishing the build . Took them off and sold them in a week , I hated them .

With a 3" lift you will be fine going to a 33" tire ( although you will want to regear to get some power back ) And if your going to get serious with the throttle the rear Dana 35 wont last long .
Research what ever kit Manufacturer your thinking about . ALOT of Kits out there . Alot that dont work or are a compromise . I've built 9 TJs so if you have questions I can help .

Thanks that's great to know.
I ordered a 2" suspension today. Just the simple lift with pucks and quality shocks.
I might end up with 31/32" is what I am thinking. "dont think the 31/32 will look to funny under the 2" lift" Wont lag down as much going that route over the 33" tires I'm thinking.

I'm not going to nuts with the project. Front bumper as I am going to be pulling it with my rv to hunt locations. I will be using the d ring shackles on the bumper as connection points to tow. Light to mid off road hunting. Mostly gravel and the normal mountain roads. No rock crawling or anything like that.
So 2" lift is all I need and probably 31/32" tires. I have a set of 16" wheels ordered just waiting on tires when I have some more $ and after I settle on a size and brand.

Replaced Duratracs with Patagonias just for stronger sidewall.   Lil stiffer but not much ride difference.   Duratracs were good - but 2 not 3 ply sidewall.  Don’t think you can beat duratracs on ice packed snow

Although not on a jeep.  I also run the Cooper ST-max tires on my dodge ram 3500 and they have been great.  My son however has on his Toyota Tacoma and his Toyota sr5 the new Yokahoma GEOLANDAR M/T® G003 .   They have been excellent tires.  I was going to buy them but there just a tad too agressive for my Ram.  They would be great jeep tire.

Another on Falken Wildpeak AT3's here, I have them on my  06 Nissan XTerra and they have a little over 50k on them and still good, wear has been better than what they advertised.  couple years ago had someone blast through a stop sign because of ice and had to put my truck in a ditch to avoid them, thought I might have an issue getting out because a few feet of snow in an empty irrigation ditch, pulled right out no issue.  ive been lucky enough to be the guy friends and family call when they get stuck and I attribute a lot of it to the tires being nice and sticky why things get slick.

I have been a big fan of the Firestone Transforce AT, and still am. Needed to replace my set on my pickup this spring. So I got a quote from the local Firestone dealer, go in to buy them and the manager lady wouldn't honor the quote, so I gladly, and quietly left. I spoke to Jeff at Tires West in Warden, he recommended the Falken Wildpeak AT3. I bought a set of Wildpeaks from Tires West for a good price, had great service, and now have some smooth riding, excellent tires. I too recommend the Wildpeaks, and you cant beat small town service of Tires West.
