Me and daughter are headed over in the morning. Never fished it before. Trial and error is my plan. Dont forget, there is no lead allowed in any weight that is less than 1 1/2” long. Bought a bunch of tungsten weights that are apparently more valuable than gold.

We’re gonna rent a row boat and just cast kastmasters along the shoreline most likely.

You staying at the resort? We will be in rv spot #4. Waterfront site. We have our tackle plan but I wanna try a coho killer.  Stop by and I’ll buy you a corona or a jack n coke.

Looks like it will be a mini HW get together
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

For sure. This sounds like a cool deal. I hope you both have a great time, catch lots of fish, and enjoy a cocktail.
Sounds like about the perfect weekend.

Do a quick search there have been 3 or 4 posts on this lake this summer. We were over in July, had a great time. Best fishing was in the evening (we got there mid afternoon), we did best circling the weed bed towards the north end. Its a great time of year to be up there. Good luck!

I was fortunate as it burned to within 100 ft of my west property line which is where the pond is, i also did not find any spotting from burning debris so i feel lucky, i did explorer the surrounding areas as much as i could without getting in trouble and some places really got hit hard, gonne be a different area for sure.
Hope you caught some fish.
Congrats on that tag, shoot a monster.

We were there 9/29-10/4. We did well I think. Having never fished the lake nor the Tiger Trout species we did ok. Nothing huge, daughters biggest was 18”, mine was 22”. Did have one follow the spinner that was probably 10lbs. Biscuits and gravy at the resort were fantastic. Get the half order, trust me. Skook, I may have spoke to you. Talked with a dude on his cabin porch and said your gonna need to cast further. Great trip, pics wont load, just get a white screen. Will be back this summer to try again.

Yep that was me lol, we didn’t get to fish how I liked, just fished off the bank, no luck. I was more scouting some areas up the Aeneas valley, never enough time to do all the things I wanta do. Hopefully the gates open by hunting season!

Why did you post those pics!  Now I wanna go to the cabin and fish this weekend instead of heading to elk camp!  :bash:

Congrats, those are nice trout! Were you guys trolling or just casting?  This is the first year I really started fishing that lake with a boat and was running a trolling set up I do well in Idaho, but the Tigers didn't care for it.  Maybe I need to head back next weekend and try again before winter.

We tried trolling. Didnt work. Traditional trout gear, rapalas, got us nothing. I was casting a rainbow trout colored spinner, daughter did better than me using a nightcrawler under a slip bobber. The ends of the lake were productive. There is a narrow slot in the reeds down by the reed island off the boy scout camp. This leads you to a pond of sorts. We did quite well on 17” tigers and 16” rainbows. You have to row through the slot.
