BOLO
« on: October 10, 2021, 06:14:38 PM »
Well hate to post and say this but Be On Look Out for anyone claiming to have gotten their deer even a youth hunter that looks like this. Yes I know it is a week before season but that doesn't stop some people and if they have gonads enough to shoot it a week early they also have the gonads to lie about a youth shooting him and I have a suspicion eventually they'll brag or show off the horns.
After visiting the yard daily all summer from developing antlers to until 3 days ago, accompanying his twin brother a 2 point he has turned up missing

Additional pics

The reason I know it doesn't stop some people is you would not believe the number of folks scoping the 2 point with Bino's and range finders

The bucks that spent the summer in my orchard have also disappeared - as they did last year at this time and the year before that - only to return when the does started smelling good. My guess is that he's out exploring his options and may very well return if he doesn't stand sideways in front of a hunter next weekend as young bucks are apt to do.

Or maybe a four legged predator

If I see a buck on the side of the road or in a yard, I often stop to look at it.  Doesn’t make me a poacher.  I am sure someone might have those thoughts but most of us like to look at deer.

Same thing in 204.  Last year our favorite doe showed up in the spring with a broadhead in her shoulder blade, and survived.  Now her spike has gone missing before archery season began.

Are we really stretching a buck that hasn't shown up for a couple days into a poaching case?

I had a bachelor herd hanging out in my alfalfa for weeks, now I only see a few of them on the cameras at night.

The buck groups always disperse this time of year and go nocturnal. We had two groups of 4 whitetails all shooters. We now have a big buck with smaller spikes and rag horns on night pics. The small bucks are shadow boxing but have not seen the big one start as of today. Loss of velvet usually coinsides with this phenom.

This seems to be a story about a buck doing what buck deer do every year this time of year.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
