Just one more day of deliveries, then I'm all done. Thanks for turning out again HuntWa!

ondering if anybody has success in breaking down those 1.25# packs of scallops without thawing them out completely?  We joked about it earlier, but looking for actual tips if anybody's got one.

Seafood can be refrozen if properly thawed in the refrigerator. It should take 2 days to thaw scallops in the fridge. Refreezing may affect quality, as each time a product is refrozen, it takes additional moisture out of the fish. You can also thaw quicker in an ice bath, but need to make sure you always have plenty of ice in it. The temperature of ice water is normally around 38F. When food reaches 40F, bacteria starts to form. In seafood, it only takes a couple of hours above 40F to become hazardous.

Skillet,
Thank you again for your product and effort delivering it.  My family’s yearly fish intake is 100% your product.  It’s the best we’ve had and will continue to have.  The bellies were gone on day one.  The kids would not stop eating on them so our afternoon snack turned into dinner as well.  The pan seared cod last night was gone before pictures could be taken as they and the wife were eating flakes right out of the pan.  This years product is the highest of quality and worthy of holding your name.  Thanks again for the drive over, I wish more people here were involved in the forum to build the sale higher for you.  I also hope that this sale helped make your season a positive and next year will yield less break downs and more cash in your pocket.  Merry Christmas!

Thanks @pianoman9701  Refreezing has always made me nervous but I may try it.  These scallops are delicious and I'd hate to run out!

This year I was one of "those guys" that couldnt show up on delivery day so today Chris made a special stop for me. Way above and beyond what I expect and I am very grateful that I didn't have to miss out. Thanks again.

Great to see you Chris. I value our brief times smoking cigars and having "the occasional" bourbon. You're a good friend.

Well, it's another one in the books, folks.

Thank you to all who found some change in the couch and bought some fish, and to the rest who shared the group buy with others!

I greatly expanded my delivery route and stops this year, and got to meet a bunch of people I haven't met before. Always a good thing to connect with more of you HuntWa'ers!  The greatest forum community I've ever found, bar none.

Along the nearly 2600 miles I racked up this year I made many new friends, was fed great food, drank some great bourbon, smoked cigars, told some stories and listened to many more. I was offered places to sleep, showers, etc.  The generosity shown to a traveler like myself is humbling.

Special thanks again to @ctwiggs1, and a producer credit also goes to @7mmfan this year for helping me pull this off.

Everybody please enjoy the bounty of the ocean, and if you'd post up images of your fish on the plate I'd love to see them!

Fair winds and following seas,

Capt Chris

Chris,

Some day when I am not doing Mach one with my hair on fire, we will sit and have a couple fingers of whiskey, and tell tales of the Bluejacket. Thank you again for bringing such quality seafood to us!

Should have gotten more.

I 2nd that thought.
I grilled mine on tinfoil over hot charcoal. Then glazed them with a garlic lemon sauce. They were fantastic! Will buy again for sure. Nice too that they stay together, no falling apart. Great item.
Thanks Chris!

You guys are really making me wish I’d ordered some salmon Pattie’s too, those look delicious!

We cooked up some salmon yesterday, in foil in the oven with butter and some Lovage, boy have we missed good fish. We really appreciate all the work that Chris and his crew puts into their product and making it available to the rest of us. Now the hard part…giving boxes away to family for Christmas 😂

Skillet - thanks again for your amazing selections. These salmon/shrimp patties won't last long in our house. We've already eaten one pack of the smoked salmon bellies (I was going to give them away as a gift, but, yeah...  :chuckle:).

Send me a PM if you'd like to partner with my ministry. I'd love to promote your business on my website - https://thetiethatbinds.net/partners. (scroll down the list of partners to see "outdoor partners" & "business partners").
