Duck Decoys
« on: November 23, 2021, 12:32:01 PM »
Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I got new that I'll be going duck hunting this weekend with some buddies! I'm the new guy to waterfowl hunting and I have everything except decoys. All my buddies have some but they've told me decoy's are something I should get- at least a dozen of them or so. I've heard a lot of great things about waterfowl and know I'll definitely be getting up to doing some solo hunts so some decoy's would be great.
My only issue is decoys can get expensive quick. I know they aren't relatively expensive compared to other things but I'd prefer to get some used/second hand ones first. I've looked all over over up and Craigslist but can't seem to turn up anything.

I wanted to post this to ask if you guys have any you would like to get rid of or sell. I am located in the Tacoma/Puyallup area and will be hunting around Burlington.
Shoot me a PM if you are selling or giving away any!

Thanks!

Check Walmart online. I ordered 2 dozen mallard decoys and it was $80. Shipping was free. Arrived at my house in under a week. I was also looking for used decoys, but as it turned out I got new decoys as cheap or cheaper than any of the used decoys that I could find.

Someone on here is selling used decoys. A little weathered but not bad to get started if he's willing to split them up.

look on Craigslist for decoys. Most are used but many have weights and cords and even some come with bags. DOA's mallard decoys ride nice on the water and have good colors. But really, location is the most important factor for duck hunting. Being where they want to be.

Skagit Arms had a dozen GHG mallards for $60. Great deal for those caliber decoys.

If you're headed down this way, I've got a dozen that are all hooked up.  :dunno:

Don’t worry about getting a lot of decoys. I’ve been hunting a long time and still only use 12

Well, 13 now. I got a Mojo Rippler last month for those dead calm days when the water is like glass.

I've got a bag of used ones you can have for free.  They don't have cords or weights and some of their paint has faded or chipped, but they'll still get some birds to look.  I'm in Castle Rock, so not sure if you're ever down this way, but pm me if you want them.

Send me a PM. I've got a bag of dekes I'll give you.

Awesome guys above are hooking you up.  From my experience, the price for used duck dekes is often about the same or more than new.  You can get a dozen for under $50 easy and then just need weights.  It doesn't take much unless you are river or salt hunting, many times I don't even unwrap the weights.
