Huns?
« on: November 27, 2021, 05:15:59 PM »
Where in the heck are they? Last year chukar hunting I was basically guaranteed a couple bonus huns. Haven't managed one this year compared to over 30 chukar. I did see one monster covey (40+) but they jumped way wide.

What is everyone else seeing?

Quail numbers are definitely some of the highest I've seen. I dont get into them much though. Chukar and quail don't seem to mix, at least where I hunt.

Hun numbers seemed stable early in the season when I was after them. Odd, but these quail all came from high slopes in Douglas county while pursuing chukar this week. Kittitas is my stomping ground for huns. Most days are 2-4 coveys while chukaring.
