I am still concerned that the anti's will know they are down a vote and will rally harder than sportsman.

I hope people don't get confident in the appearance of momentum.

Keep the emails going to the commission.
Ya that  :yeah:
I think we are at a tipping point and we need to slam dunk this.
Keeping the emails going strong 💪 is the way.
Even if you have emailed and asked for a revote ,do it again,do it daily.
I know it sounds crazy, but the squeaky wheel will get the grease.

Yesterday was a good day.

I found the SCI letter / link to send the Commission with the SCI view of the issue.

Also saw the letter posted by W4WC that explained how to send a letter to the Commission in support of the Inland Northwest Council's petition.

It's been good to see the multiple petitions sent in to the Commission and to be able to find how to support those petitions.

Thank-you to everyone.

The troops have really rallied for this spring bear issue thats awesome!!! I would love to see or hear that RMEF got involved at some level to support this fight since it drastically affects the elk.. Every time I open a RMEF envelope with the free return address stamps it irritates me because I'd rather see them spend their time and money fighting against wolves and issues like this one... I will send in my daily email to the commission...

I have been busy lion hunting and did not know about this commissioner resigning until finding this message in my email from SCI. They are telling their members to generate messages to the commission!

Quote
All:

This is a screen shot, so the web site is not a direct link. I think it was two days ago that one of the anti spring bear hunt voters on the game commission resigned. That suddenly leaves the four commissioners that voted for the bear season with a 4 to 3 majority. If there is enough push for the season from hunters the game commissioners that wanted the season may reinstate it!

Get the word out to all your friends to contact the game commissioner and ask to have the season reinstated!!!

I am super busy today, but I can send a newsletter this week to all members of this forum asking them to send a message to the commission. I imagine there are a percentage of members who do not know all the details of what has happened and have not taken action, hopefully it will result in more messages of support for spring bear season being sent to the commissioners.

I don't know if it's on the "agenda" .
But you know the saying.
Ask and you shall receive.
Then this one.
Closed mouths don't get fed.

I don't know about you guys, but when I emailed ,I asked for reinstate the season or revote.
No compromise,go big or go home.
If they don't do it then ohh well at least I tried.

Right now, they are not revoting on the spring bear on Jan 21, but they are gearing mutiple formal petitions askeding for the reinstatement. Well see what comes of that

Also my understanding is that anyone who voted against it can call for a revote, almost at anytime during during meeting but there's nothing scheduled at this time

I dont think Ive ever sent more messages and signed more petitions in my life, combined!

I just started hunting, hoping to make bear a big staple of my family's diet and I fear this is just the begin of anti's attack on bear hunting. Sadly, from my ow  experiences, it seems like bear hunting in particular is targeted as only trophy hunting. It gives me some sort of pleasure seeing people's faces when I tell them I actually would rather just have the meat.

Also, a big huge THANK YOU to everyone sharing all the info on who to contact and how to support.  If it weren't for y'all I wouldnt know how to fight back.

Thank you for stepping up.... hunters aren't the best at fighting for our rights... probably because we shouldn't have to, but that is a whole other discussion.

Hi tyfighter,

Thank-you for getting in the fight to protect Bear Hunting in Washington State.

Washington State is sort of where it all begin, the early successes of the anti hunting movement against bear hunting, where the anti hunting groups had their first real big win back in 1996. (See Washington State Initiative 655 for more information)

The arguments the anti's are using today are the same arguments they found worked in influencing the 90% of the population that neither is for or against hunting.

The 'we hunt bears for trophy' and 'we do not eat bears' are tried and true. They win with those arguments.

They have been having success with the 'we shoot mothers with cubs' and the latest, 'its unethical to hunt bears in the spring because they are lethargic'

You are right, how is it the approximate 15Million people who purchased hunting licenses last year cannot gather even 20 thousand signatures on a petition to save a spring bear hunting season?

Thank- you for all you are doing for hunting, wildlife conservation and habitat conservation.

I see a lot of people talking about 15 million hunters in Washington.
Well in 2020 only about 21,000 people that bought a bear tag.
So I would say the petition is not doing that bad.
