Have done the same in that area. Always a worry picking up someone else’s bird. Not sure if it has lead in it or not. Same with the shell hulls. You don’t want to get checked with spent hulls on you with lead ‘markings’ on them. Since I use 16 gauge nearly exclusively, it is seldom a worry on the hulls, but it is a concern.
People can be, well, ‘trashy’.

I was just wondering about that, also, how an enforcement office might question the person cleaning up the hulls. I would hope they would be understanding about it. Incidentally, I hunt 16ga also.

This showed up on the Duvall community Facebook page this morning. This is the stuff that makes for a huge black eye for hunters. It doesn’t matter If it was or wasn’t hunters. It’s presumed to be and that’s enough for the black eye.

:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

My argument would be that I am NOT in possession of toxic shot, but only of shells. It is hard to imagine a warden being pissy enough to give you a hard time with a bunch of garbage in your possession, but...  :dunno:

He had stated he took the birds as well. If you have A string of birds, a shotgun, and empty hulls, well, they will figure you were the one to get them.
Leaving birds reminds me of EWa a number of years ago. Guy came into the butcher shop with a dead quail not knowing how to clean it. Makes me wonder if the morons that left the birds did not know what to do with them? Easy enough to ‘YouTube’ it, but they would have to be willing to get their hands bloody.
Perhaps they were surprised that when they fell they were not clean, in a tray, and covered with plastic wrap?
Cuterebra are NOT cute!
