WTB UTV from OR
« on: January 20, 2022, 11:43:25 AM »
I'm in the market for a smaller SXS UTV to replace a golf cart. Doesn't need to be a 4X4 but I would like a roof and windshield. I would like to keep it under $5K.
My old golf cart bit the dust on Sunday, I think it's a fuel pump. It's a 35-year-old Ezygo 2 stroke, and it need breaks just time to scrap it.
Thanks

Changed the title, found a used UTV in Oregon. What hoops do I have to go through to get it home? It will not be used for off roading, just maintaining sporting clays courses and shuttling my butt around.

Do they need to be licensed? If not I can’t think of anything you’d need to do other than fetch it home.

If you do transfer the title on it you will have to pay the user tax.  Even though the sales tax was paid by the original owner.  The user tax is equivalent to what the sales tax is. You will only need a orv permit to ride in any forest or on unimproved roads. The dol will base the sales price on the resale value in "their" book.

You will get the title and the green plate.  But you don't have to buy the stamps. Just went through this in December.

The main reason I'm not buying here, tax, off road tabs and if new destination charges assembly and first oil change. It added almost $2,500 to the total.

Thankfully the person you are getting it from "gifted" it to you.  You get to fill in the price as such on the title.transfer.  I is amazing what people will gift.

They have their own book they use. I don’t know where they get it, but it’s not the Kelly blue book.

I have a 1977 Cushman Truckster that has been sitting in my garage not getting enough use. It has a 3 on the tree, and is in great shape. Has a manual dump bed, horn, lights. It has homemade doors since I could not find the original ones anywhere. Let me know if you are interested.  Here is an internet pic of the body style. The one I have is yellow. I can take better pics when I am home tomorrow.

NADA has it listed; it puts it above my price. I guess now I'll dump money into the old golf cart, $500 for a new motor $185 for breaks. Anybody have a 13hp Subaru Robin engine that can be rebuilt?

If you bought a UTV in Oregon you still have to pay sales tax on it? Why can’t you just register the title down there?
