Torn between burning my points on a General, or keep building with a small chance of pulling the random.  Tough decision for me this year...

I drew in 2019 so I’m rebuilding points for 2023 or 2024 or ??  Hard to predict where the creep will lead.

In for the general tag with either four or five points. Got my bags all packed and ready to somehow get disappointed  :chuckle:

One of my buddies and my wife submitted for tags in central WY. They went special with 12 point average. Should be 100% draw. Going with an outfitter. Should be a blast.

Just a reminder, pretty much any GEN area tag in WY is far better than hunting GEN areas in most states, particularly WA  8)

Thought this might have been my year to cash in max points but nah I'm going to hold off another year or two I think.

Now I'm back on the fence, thinking about double dipping MT with archery then rifle.  If WY were only where ID is it would make my life so much easier.  17 hour drives are a drag.

I'm all reality I was so blown away by Wyoming's general area and the bull elk I saw and the size of antlers that ive not even been tempted to try to save for a special draw unit. Plus having family living smack dab in the middle of a general unit helps.

But for my own purposes let me refute this claim and say all the elk have fled general units for limited entry units!

But seriously, some fantastic elk opportunities.

Hopefully going with a group of cow hunters, they should draw......... and I am in for the same unit in the random for an any elk tag.  Hunted the unit in '12, my partner had the tag and then again in '17 with my tag.  Chances of drawing that tag again are slim to none, but way better than trying to draw Washington quality tags.  Fingers crossed.

I'm still deciding. I have 8 points so I could draw a few decent tags.

I'm sitting on 3 pts but feel like this year will be 3.5 for the general to have it guaranteed - sitting it out for another year so it's more of a sure thing
