That .30 cal sounds like a perfect build start.    Love to hear the low round count story ???

It is. 300WSM has been my go to for nearly 15 years in a Kimber Montana. But Iíve been stuck with the mid weight bullets due to the mag length. I read about the tuneability of long throated WSMs from some FClass guys.  I built it on a LA Pierce action at the same time I did a twin to it in .338NM with a CF barrel. Got into the .338 right away and meant to come back to the WSM. Shot it a few rounds for break in and put it in the safe. Iíve gone to the .338NM as my main hunting caliber. Iíve also been able to extend my Kimber Montanaís mag box to shoot the heavies with a faster twist barrel.

Great barrel for a lightweight long range rig. The long throated WSMs will run on a short action with a bainey (mag) box and some fitting or on a mid/LA. And they are a significant improvement over a factor chamber. Or punch it out to a larger magnum.

I also have a short attention span and generally have one foot into my next project by the time all my parts arrive for my last. The long lead times for barrels is making it worse😁
