Thoughts and prayers for your family are with you today.  So sorry for your loss.  God Bless.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Sorry for the loss of your father, Boneaddict. May he rest in peace.
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5

So sorry for your loss. He was one that I made sure to read when he commented on things. Another wise sage lost. I appreciated his view and reflections on life. Take care of yourself.

Bone,
I haven't read all the posts. But
I feel your pain, and all I can say is that each and every day you'll come across something from or about him that'll make you smile or cry with the memories. Lost my dad on 02/02/2020 and to this day I still see things daily that remind me of him. You may not feel like it right now but the pain in your heart will lessen.

If you need to talk about things I'm available. Having someone to talk with who's going through or been through this is helpful.

Just saw the points post, and came here to see this. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the memories you have with your dad. I pray that for every tear now, there are a thousand smiles later as you reflect on your lives together.

Terrible loss.  I dread the day myself.  All the best to you and your family.

Its been 3 years since my dad died.

Whats weird is the dreams I have of him sometimes. He seems so alive and real that i wake and have to remind myself hes not alive anymore. And the man I dream of is "peak dad", 20 years younger then his age when he died. I wake both happy and sad at the same time.

Sounds like Idabooner was a pretty good dad.

Same thing happens to me.  Dad has been gone 6 years now and on Tuesday I got off work, tired from a stressfull day and thought I should call dad.  Uh.... that's not going to work.

First year is the worst but it gets easier after that, not easy but easier.

Sound like you had a good one Doug, cherish those memories.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

My dad has been gone since 2003 and i have dreams with him in it sometimes to.  Usually when something really stressfull happens, his b day ir they day he passed.  The year he passed I was back home fishing and remeber we were out on a lake we don't often go to and remeber trying to take pictures and video of these eagles soring over us.  We were laughing like crazy and catching fish to boot.  Eveytime I see an eagle I think of him.  Sorry for your lose @boneaddict .  You will never forget and it isn't easy but it does get a bit better.
