This will probably be the year I draw... I almost just put in for points options on all my draws because we are selling our home and buying another one this fall... crappy timing for it all, but it is what it is.  lol  :chuckle:

So there will be a period we will be living in our 5th wheel for a couple months on my inlaws property.  So this will be the year we're drawn and successful and no room for anything!  :chuckle:

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

I am retiring and moving to Montana likely in 5-6 years. I pray for OIL but I will not leave Wa without spending my pts in all other categories.  I will likely have to start appyling for much easier draws now to get them burned up in 5.

I love the high point holder thoughts of “burn points on east categories” really doesn’t seam like any are a easy draw anymore

There are no easier tags, with the number of applicants and limited number of tags, put in for the easy ones, I bet that you would be lucky to draw 1 or 2 in the next 5-6 years.

There certainly are easier to draw permits, some are much easier to draw than the most popular choices. Look in the Quality deer category. Some of the most popular permits are as bad as 1 in 800 odds, many are around 1 in 100. But there are some with much better odds. Especially looking at the west side quality permits, some are 1 in 10. A person with over 20 points would definitely have a good chance at drawing one of the blacktail quality permits.

:yeah:
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

True, but are they quality? I wouldn't even drive from the E side to hunt a lot of the W side quality deer tags. I live on the W side and don't put in for them.

You learn many things on huntwa. One of which is when timberstalker talks to shaniqua you can count on it being off by at least 2 weeks  :chuckle: so my guess is June 9th!!!! Take that to the bank  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

They're in the quality category. It's up to each person to decide if it's worth their quality points or not. I applied for a couple of quality blacktail hunts last year with 8 points, but didn't draw.
