What type of ducks?

Biggest thing is no matter what the water source, even a small drinking bowl, have a way for the ducklings to be able to climb out.  Put a rock on the inside and outside of the container.  Even big containers that you are sure they can't get into yet, have a way for them to climb out.  I lost a couple of ducklings last year that drown in a small bowl that I was sure they could get out of, but couldn't.  I also almost lost a nice little hen because she got into the big duck's tank and could not get out.  Luckily I found her on her last little bit of strength.  I was able to dry her off and let her warm up on my chest for a couple of hours before she recovered.

P.S. one more thing.  If you can make a little nursery pen, you'll be way better off.  I had a hen last year hatch 14 babies, Once they all hatched she took off with them, temp dropped down that night and when she showed up the next morning she was down to 7,  Then lost 4 more the next cold night.  All of my hens after that I set up a small pen with water and food around the nest.  That way she would go back in and use the nest over and over, keeping them warm.  Oh, I have Muscovy Ducks.

Welsh Harlequin
We have had them a year. Been fun. Just doing this so kids have the experience.
Should be any day now
Their small coop pen is fenced in, inside the garden. Plan was to leave them in there unless we were out in yard.

If they're being raised with momma duck, they're good to be exposed to swimming in shallow water right away. But if they're separate from mom then they won't have her oils on them and they'll sink and drown or get chilled
Have fun! Ducks are good entertainment for sure.

Well, not sure what happened.
One hatched and is healthy
Another hatched and died
Another egg got tossed out of nest
And one egg left.
I planned on keeping one female, be my luck this one Survivor so far would be a male
How it goes I guess
