Help with a youth first hunt
« on: September 25, 2022, 07:43:30 PM »
This is my final plea for a little help… my daughter just got her hunting license and is ready to tag her first deer. Unfortunately, I have had zero luck with any landowners in any of the youth hunt areas. We live on the west side so scouting the little public land that is available is a difficult task. I know we are last minute and may just be up a creek for this year as she didn’t start showing interest until now but I’m hopeful for a miracle. I will be taking her to my normal spots as well I was really just hoping for something that is a bit easier for her for her first experience.

We’ve been doing that and she’s been loving it, I think that’s what sparked her last second interest in getting a deer this year!

I’ll be honest, I haven’t done a ton of black tail hunting and the little I have done has been in thick country.  I’ve been out scouting after work and on weekends. I’m just having a hard time finding accessible land that isn’t so thick that she’ll be miserable if that makes sense.
