You wouldn’t, but they still do. They definitely aren’t as primitive as they once were but they still are compared to a scoped rifle. Muzzy guys have always got the shaft on seasons
Dang, that makes absolutely no sense to me...Why would modern get the late season advantage in those units over the other two primitive hunting methods?
As I recall WDFW try's to equalize the success rates for each of the weapons groups by manipulating season length and timing, ect... The numbers make it look like they do very well at it. About 10% success for elk hunters and 30% success for deer hunters across the state no matter the weapons choice year after year. You wouldn't want muzzy elk folks having 30% success rates while rifle folks had 6% success rates would you?
