Early Winter Trapline Workshop ~ Dec. 9-11, 2022
« on: October 25, 2022, 12:02:48 PM »
Hi Guys & Gals,
Well another workshop is in the makings and this one is going to be better then the last one.
Make plans to attend this one.  This one has everything you could even think about and some of the best trappers to teach you too.
It will be held at Steve Brownells Christmas Tree Farm.
He has acres for us to find something and the critters are there.
We're going to should/teach you about mink, muskrat, otter, beaver and even bobcats.
There will be plenty of animals for you to learn how to skin and put up.
Bonus ..... if your a duck hunter, Steve will even find a few hours before the trapline starts to take you out and shoot a few greenheads.
Check out the Agenda and we'll see you there.
JC

Wow! What a great looking event!  I went to the one last year which I felt was fantastic. I'm looking forward to this one even more. I need to re-up my membership and RSVP!

I will be back again in Upstate New York deer hunting so I can not attend. Sounds like a great time.

Boy oh boy, this is going to be a great weekend for sure.  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
Make sure you bring raingear because of the time of he year.......it rains over here on the westside.
But don't worry Steve said he will have three large tents set up to get us out of the rain.

For you that don't know any of us, I will be one of the instructors along with the others.
Darryl and I will be talking about trapping mink and how to put them up.  Steve will be talking about muskrat and otter and how to trap nd put them up.
Bruce will be talking beaver on how to put trap and put them up.
Bill Largen will be talking about bobcat trapping and how to put them up.
Karen, I think she is going to talk about trapping from a woman's eye view.

We might have a few more instructors too.
I'm working on one from Idaho to see if I can get him over here and talk about maybe wolf trapping.
I might try another couple of guys to see if I can talk them into talking on marten trapping.

There will be a pile  :yike: of critters  :yike: there for you to put hands on and learn how to put them up.
Some of us are out in the field right now working on catching some critters for you.
I already have a pile of raccoons and some beavers for you to learn on.
Darryl and I are working on trapping some mink for you so you can learn on them.
Steve is working on a bunch of muskrat for you.
Bill is working on some bobcats for you.

We will have something there for everyone to practice on.
I'll even throw in a possum in if anyone wants to try their skill on them.

So get ready for a great weekend.
I'll see you there.

I'll be there tomorrow by noon. Should be a good event. I visited Monday and Steve's place is a good place for demos and maybe a few catches. Good learning opportunity even for the more experienced. Never too old to learn something new!
