Updated Snow/road reports
« on: November 08, 2022, 11:48:01 AM »
I am pretty sure I know the answer but still worth asking. Does anyone have current road and snow reports for the Colville area and if possible, east of colville a ways up highway 20? I am still SLIGHTLY considering going up this weekend depending on the roads but will likely stay local and bird hunt. Thanks

I’m up here in NE corner and roads where I am at are compact snow with ice in spots. Luckily, it has remained cold since yesterday’s snow dump, but if it gets above freezing today, and then refreezes tonight, it’s gonna be a slick-show.

That was my concern for highway 20 and then who the heck knows once you turn off that one the side roads

Main roads are all good right now, but very wet. As mentioned, when it freezes over tonight they're gonna be nasty in the morning.  Those unexpected shady spots on the road may not thaw at all tomorrow.

Good to know, thanks for the update. I would likely head over Friday either morning or mid day through Sunday so I will have to keep tracking it

No road report but a buddy is in the valley to the north and said he woke up to about 8" of new Monday morning and it was still coming down.

Last night we drove over Sherman, it was clear and wet and soon to be ice but no compact snow. Earlier when we went over Boulder, it was a mess. It was a couple of inches of rutted up compact snow with slush in places. 395 is clear from what I can see.

Snuggled up next to the pellet stove.  Got up to a balmy 8. Not sure if at my age that I really want to deal with a side hill dodger in this weather.

Yike! We got off easy with a balmy 24deg this morning! Felt like about 10deg though. Weather has the rut going, had a very large buck cross the road in front of me as I drove home last night.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
