on my bolt action Ruger American the 22lr is quieter than my pellet gun....
Rimfires, especially 22LR, they're a lot of fun. 22's aren't very loud to begin with but you put a good can on a 22 Rifle and they're just crazy quiet. 22 pistols aren't quite as quiet as rifles but they're still pretty quiet.
It's kind of misleading to people who have never shot a rimfire with a suppressor on it because a video always makes them sound much louder than they really are. I did a video out in my shop where I was shooting my S&W Compact 22LR suppressed into this little sand trap I have and when I sent it to a friend of mine he wasn't very impressed until he asked me what that tinking sound was every time I shot. When I told him that's the sound of the spent cases hitting the concrete floor he said oh sht, the sound of the brass hitting the floor is louder than the gun. So when anyone watches the videos like the ones dreadi puts up and you think well that doesn't seem very quiet, I can promise you, it's considerably quieter in person than it appears on his videos.
