Silencer finally approved
« on: November 09, 2022, 07:27:40 AM »
ATF finally approved my paper work.  Just filed the 4733 with the dealer, they need to notify local law enforcement they are shipping it and I should have it by the end of the month.  I did the eform in Febuarary it was filed with AFT in March.  So eform isn't much faster unless they have gotten faster during that time. I got the Banish 30.  .17 to 30 cal magnums. https://www.silencercentral.com/products/banish-30/

Are there any local shops that do suppressor sales and paperwork? I've read that the online shops (Silencer Co, Silencer Shop) are slow to submit and slow to ship once approved adding 3-8 weeks on top of the ATF's timeline...

There is one in Bellevue. I bought my Omega 300 from them about 4 years ago.

Didn't realize some suppressors were good for multiple calibers, that certainly makes the price easier to swallow.

They originally said 90 days, then 150 and now I think they are at 180.... One thing to keep in mind (from what I was told by the local dealer) is that those are WORKING days not calendar days......

I paper filed in January of 2021 - got mine in August of this year....

I purchaed one from them back on Dec. 9th and am still waiting.
This is what I received from them today after reaching out to them yesterday.

My apologies. At the time in which your order was placed, that was the timeframe being given to us by the ATF. Since such, timeframes have gone up exponentially across the board regardless of facilitator. It's possible that your friends may have e-filed, which wasn't available at the time that you filed. Also, I have folks get a response after nine months through us or take as long as eighteen months. I really can't put rhyme or reason to it.
I see that your paperwork was submitted December 9th, 2021.
This process can take up to 12-14 months (from the day of submission) but cannot guarantee that at this point.
What we are currently waiting for is the ATF to do their part and approve your application. Once the ATF has approved your application, they have 45 days to send it to Silencer Central. You will receive an email and/or text from us as soon as we receive your approved tax stamp. We greatly appreciate your patience and we will reach out as soon as we receive your approval. You are able to reach out to the ATF via phone for status of your applications at this number 304-616-4500.

Dropped by WCA today and they're seeing about 7-8 months even with the e-forms, sounds like there's still a paper form backlog.

Any recommendations for a suppressor with a .223-.308 caliber range? Looking at the Thunderbeast Ultra 7, Banish 30 or HX QD 762 for use on an AR in 5.56, 6.5 tikka and some future .30 cal guns, semi and bolt.

Ultra 7 is what I ordered.

consider also the silencerco omega 36m to cover your 9mm pistol as well. a bit heavier than the others mentioned but very robust.
