Your set up sounds good for afternoon/ evening sit.
Not for morning. Trying to catch deer where they've been feeding all night at first light is difficult.
If not this year then plan for next year to cut a trail along the property line that cuts into the middle of the timber. That's where you want to be at first light and stay till the mid day stretch.

Rut or no rut. I’ve seen one of those guys during daylight hours. Nov 2nd while trying to call in bears.

Yeah, late season archery for blacktail is hard. Spent a good amount of time in the woods these past 2 weekends, lots of sign, fresh droppings, fresh rubs, no deer.

Ill get another chance around Christmas before the season ends but I am not holding my breath.

Action has slowed way down on my cams. I am thinking at this point my only option is to hike around and see if I can jump something out of bed to get a shot at it.

Oh well, there is always next year.
