It's not gonna stop no matter how involved we get, the commission has an agenda and the votes to get it done.

I'm all ears!

I've wrote all the commission members, I've wrote my reps, I've joined multiple groups like SCI RMEF WSTA and others

I'm not current on a couple I could fix that for sure

I vote the right way, not sure how I could vote harder  :dunno:

Lime I said, I'm all ears!

Staying up all night sending e-mails and letters have proven to do nothing what so ever as well.

These people make my blood boil. I wish I could ban their soy latte, Prius, rank grandma perfume, or whatever they hold near and dear that won’t affect me at all. Sure wish one of these jack wagons would have to suffer the consequences they are creating. Wish they would be the ones attacked by cougars or bears. Wish they were the ones drowned in the flash flood from the giant unmanaged beaver dam breaking. But this will never happen to them sitting in the city. Making decisions that destroy our centuries old lifestyle. What a life they must live so full of HATE. Constantly stewing over how much they hate me, hate you, hate anyone who looks like us or participates in our activities. What a low life member of society you must have to be to hate someone you don’t even know or have even tried to understand.
I guess I’m gonna have to trap a pile of beavers this year to go along with everything else we won’t be able to manage soon. When I hear they want to close spring bear, I hear kill double the fall bears, want to close beaver trapping, let’s get out and over trap every good area we know. Not going to be able to for long.

Continue that, speak if you can, encourage others to do so. Do I expect my 3 minutes of talk to make any difference?  It really, but it will take away from antis being able to speak for those three minutes and that’s a win to me.

Melanie Rowland, J.D.
Commissioner Rowland
Melanie Rowland, WDFW Commission
(At-Large position, Okanogan County)
Occupation: Retired, environmental attorney, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office of General Counsel
Current Term: January 24, 2022 - December 31, 2026

Melanie J. Rowland has lived in Washington and enjoyed its stunning natural landscapes since the 1970's. She served in the Northwest Regional Office of General Counsel for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where she advised the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) on matters pertaining to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and other federal environmental laws. While at NOAA she was a member of the NMFS national working group on the effects of climate change on marine species and co-authored several publications on this topic. Since retiring from NOAA, she has volunteered as a member of the board and legal counsel for the Methow Valley Citizens Council.

Prior to her service with NOAA, Commissioner Rowland was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Washington’s Institute for Environmental Studies and the Law School, where she co-authored the country’s leading wildlife law treatise and taught courses in conservation biology and wildlife law. Previously, she served as Senior Counsel for The Wilderness Society, and as Assistant Dean at the University of Washington and the University of Puget Sound law schools. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Commissioner Rowland and her husband live in Twisp. They enjoy hiking, birding, and cross-country skiing in the beautiful Methow Valley. They also enjoy sea kayaking on the coasts of Washington, BC, and Alaska. She is an avid student of wildlife track and sign and is certified by CyberTracker.

For what it's worth. There is a member who was banned from this site who is taking the MVCC personal to task for destroying his trapline last year. The person who was cited had her arraignment and she showed up with a suit. They had a court date set in the next month. I'm guessing Rowland is not pleased that they have to deal with a trapper.

Thanks @madmax for posting the link. I was just jumping on here to do the same and glad to see a thread already in place.  We need to keep up pressure on all fronts in a unified way.  Hunting is conservation.

I’ve had small talk with a few biologists around the country and there’s a push by the environmentalist groups to put beaver on the ESA.

I can’t believe how brainwashed people are getting.

On the end of the article I read it mentioned about the Tulalip tribes work on relocating beaver. Then I recall a grant of something like 320K to relocate 3 or 4 beaver on the South fork of the Skykomish. What a freaking joke. It all falls in line with Rowlands personal agenda.

Beavers arnt a problem in the mountains but are down low. I remember reading that the WDFW had done some  beaver locating lately and that Cougars were killing them off. Any one remember that? Ill try and do a search.

A ban on beaver trapping will cause lots of problems down low and nothing for  the beavers we need in the mountains.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
