I typically use Sawyer Permethrin on my hunting clothes a few days before the opener and that way it will last the entire 6 week spring season. Not just my clothes, but also gloves, hats, vest, gaiters, and boots. I haven't found any ticks on me since using that stuff, although I did see one crawling up the barrel of my Model 97 shotgun as I was hunkered down in some brush.

Anyone use sulfur powder?

I read it off a hiking site, never tried it.

Last spring I went to KY for several days to hunt turkeys. My buddy soaked everything in Permethrin and I don't think he got a single one. I, on the other hand, used nothing and picked off easily over 100 ticks in 4 days. Sitting in the Vegas airport on a layover coming back and still picking them off!   :tung: Glad it's not like that spring hunting over here...
Common stock, we work around the clock.

It’s not right vs left, they’re both fed from the same trough. It’s a distraction…It’s have vs have nots and in that scope, everyone here is a have not…
It’s only ever been about class war… Top 1% vs everyone else… Tank the two party system and get real, meaningful change…Whoops, just spilt my beer….

I learned the same lesson at a family reunion in the Missouri Ozarks back in the mid-1980's, only add chiggers to the mess. I started finding them on me during my flight home over Denver.

Permethrin works like a charm. I've laid down in the grass and taken a nap during turkey season and woken up with zero ticks.

There is nothing better than getting settled in to wait, then noticing the ground all around you is moving toward you. Good times!

Another vote for Sawyers. I also spray Haley’s vest & collar with it.

Went out for the first time last year. Got skunked but when I went back to the camper where my wife and kids were staying my daughter found a "spider" on the bed. It then dawned on me that I had probably brought a fair amount of ticks home with me. Sure enough we found two more that night and then a few more in the truck on the drive home. Found one on myself while in the shower the next day as well. Little *censored*s. It had completely slipped my mind this year and thankfully I just saw this post and ordered some tick spray

Am I the only one who doesn’t get bothered by ticks? I’m not trying to be super macho (the thought of rattlesnakes makes me nearly pass out), ticks just don’t seem to bother me. Wipe em off and keep going about my day.
