Last year's CO trip tapped me out and for what ended up being on 4 days of hunting. I won't be going anywhere else this year.

No step back for us, MT for deer and elk archery for me then back for rifle with my son.  If that doesn't work, we might do a late season quickie somewhere.

Gas is manageable, tags are doable since we save for them all year and I don't even know what my credit card charges for interest and have no intention of finding out.

I am taking a step back but not due to inflation. This year I have a few other goals that I am putting that time and money towards. Will be back in the game next year for sure.

This year:
Utah Deer, elk and antelope (longshot state altogether)
Montana Deer and Antelope (deer should be a gimme)
Wyoming Deer, Elk and Antelope (deer is a gimme, elk and goat are long shots)

2025: Moose already bought and paid for in Canada, eh?
Wishing I was fishing...or in Wyoming

What if by some stroke of luck you got drawn in even 10 of those states? That would be one crazy year  :yike:

I could apply for tags that could make that possible but there would be serious diminishing returns for me personally..4-5 states max

I drew ďtoo manyĒ tags in 2007. Itís a good problem to have. You get to decide if you will turn tags in or run yourself ragged. I chose the latter and didnít do some tags justice.

It didnít change my application strategy. I apply for more tags now than in 2007. Hopefully I will be retired by the time it happens again.
