I don't do casinos, raffles or lottery tickets.  this is my sole outlet for gambling.  I am in with my son for 26 different categories.  I am already sitting on an any deer tag for 2023 region 5, so, my luck may have been maxed for the year.  we'll see...  I have a couple of weddings to attend to in the fall so am pretty sure I will pull a tag which will coincide with those obligations.

You never know! Last year was my big WA draw year. This year is looking mighty lean all around, and apparently UT didn't help any  :chuckle:

I keep a positive attitude for draws but don't get really excited anymore (unless I draw). This year I am a little more excited but that is because I have a very good chance to elk hunt in Oregon with a buddy. As for Washington I don't even think about the points. When it comes down to it you are lucky or you are not for the draw.

My family and I have enough luck to keep us putting in. Seems like every few years someone draws a fun tag. Itís not always a trophy tag but they are sometime and itís always worth doing.

Now time to soak and forget about it.
The not selected blues are setting in.
So if I can forget about the whole thing better off my mental health will be.

I think I've used up all of my draw luck for the year. But I'm fine with that.

Iím optimistic for my wife and daughter who have more points than I thought. I unfortunately drew 5 specials last year and had an Idaho tag.

5...

...that's gotta be some kind of record! I'd like to hear the story behind that.

I have done well over the years drawing special permits.   Part of the reason is I put in for hunts that have lousy draw odds, but still offer a quality hunt experience.   I am left with only one species, any ram tag, with 28 points.  The odds are not in my favor at less than .05 chance of drawing, but knowing itís still possible makes it exciting every year
