Westside Archery Elk 2023
« on: June 02, 2023, 06:33:22 AM »
Whoa. Work approved two whole weeks off. Gonna hunt the entire 12 days of archery elk on the Westside. Save maybe a night here or there to get washed up.

I’ll be running solo, so if anyone on the Westside wants to share a meal or something - I’m happy to cook. I dry camp though, so it won’t be anything crazy! I haven’t picked a unit just yet, summer scouting will pick for me.

Super excited to have some uninterrupted time to practice hunting!

I don't know if you saw my post looking for extra bodies...
Unit 673 is quite a drive for you, but...
I'm there for the whole season also.
.
Area is not known for monsters, but after anything legal this year.
Check harvest reports, it's a decent unit.

Is that unit pretty hard to get too in a car? I’ve never been elk hunting before just deer hunting a few times with rifle. I also only have rifles tags for this year. But If you’re still looking for bodies for backup I might be intrested just for the experience in tagging along. I’m 31 and in pretty good shape .

they plant a section of that in clover. If u ask the right question to the biologist in that area I’m sure he will dial u in, and don’t shoot a bull lol 😂 there are some monsters in there

The gates are easy to get to in a car.
They actually open some for mf'ers..
But early season is walk in only, if they allow access..
Usually closed until second week due to fire danger.
That's why I'm on state land.

Are you still looking for somebody? I'm 33 and my brother is 30. We're both in good shape and new hunters.
