So for those of you who don't know, the anti-hunting groups created a petition back in July/august that would prevent the killings of wolves. It also targeted a ranching family in Republic, the family was mentioned a few times in the petition. The commissioners on our side and even ones on the fence thought the petition was dumb and refused to meet with them. Center for Biological Diversity, Washington Wildlife First, Northwest Animal Rights Network, and about eight other groups. The petition was supposed to be voted on back at the September 8th meeting but they withdrew the petition to reset the clock. As many of you know, the department staff have produced adequate science and given the recommendation to downlist our state's wolves from endangered to sensitive. They have made a comeback and many of you know the devastation they have done on our ungulates and to ranchers. Lorna Smith has been wanting to host a townhall on the wolf issue which would give the antis a major voice but as you probably know, her and other commissioners refuse to follow the science and go in their own direction. This is the big issue for the antis and some commissioners, and the governor.

In prior meetings, WWF and other antis advocated for stopping grazing on public land. In the petition, and even during public comment they mentioned the family but not by name. A lot of antis have obsessed over this family for years. If you remember about Lorna's Sierra Club presentation, she was rallying people to speak on wolves and get involved. WWF is rallying their members to speak this Saturday in Yakima in person or over zoom. By the way, Thursday is the last day you can sign up. Then, the group left a link to Chair of the Commission Barbara Baker's email. The group wants to have the petition be voted on at the big October meeting in Olympia. It IS NOT a definitive yes that it will make it onto the agenda, it is already a massive meeting but antis are doing an email campaign to get it on the schedule. Here is a link to the wolf petition from those groups and, you'll find a link to speak at the Yakima meeting. When you sign up, put in "6. public input"

Good awareness raising.  More saber rattling and distractions happening in parallel with the upcoming season-setting/rule-making decisions imho.

Regardless we need to stay diligent and make sure are signing up to speak and be present at meetings if possible.

Funny, it looks like the anti's are evolving and now have a HOWLesque auto email that so many of them were complaining about.

"The Fish & Wildlife Commission needs to be reminded that the wolves belong to all of us."
Two points: 1. Wildlife belongs to the state, not us. 2. You (the enviro wackos) enjoy the benefits of the invasive Canadian wolves (?) and bear none of the consequences.

Please, stay in Seattle and protect your squirrels and rats.

We will always be in a "fight" with these indoctrinated people.  If you don't know your enemy's, they will over run you.  Just google, "Center for Biological Diversity"!  They make the Sierra Club look like amateurs.  And YES they are pro's at using computer generated mail, something they learned from the SC lawyers!   The "science" they use in not real science but Political Science and they work up the people who live by their "emotions" instead of realities.

The only way to beat these groups is to take away their "grants", but that won't happen, to much free money(taxpayers) to gobble up.   Always, Follow the money! :bash: :bash:

Just use their automated email system to say that you support the delisting of wolves and would like to see hunting used as a management tool.
“Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary.”

If you are not willing to die for freedom then take the word out of your vocabulary.

That's what I did last month with one of their auto generated calls to action :chuckle:

I'm gonna point this out. They have become so desperate. They fired their own leader because she wasn't radical enough. And that's saying something!

I highly doubt these emails are being read, IF they are even keeping track they probably just count every WWF email as an “against”

So I believe you ate incorrect on anyone being fired.  However with staff changes, along with clear direction on how to vote how do you see the psr assessment having an influence?

They fired Samantha Brugger, who was the main spokesperson. I thought she was a worthy adversary but now that group is a broken record, desperate and growing more radical.

She wasn't or isn't radical? More likely a personality conflict with cld. Neither of them are remotely moderate, and make that very clear.

That is how the government has been operating for decades.  Prime example, banning of lead!  At the start, the head of USFW was against its banning, NO scientific proof existed for their(wanting it banned)agenda. Solution: Forced into retirement and replaced with a Pro-lead-banner.   See how it works???? :o :o

The psr is likely more concerning that this petition. The petition is more concerning considering the ability to or willingness to defend the agencies own position.

Staff recommended downlisting the wolves. I know some commissioners would deny the petition. These groups claim to follow science and "respect" staff but when the staff's actual science doesn't agree with the antis they throw it out and make crap up
