I hope this link works for free training, if not look up Sporting systems compliance training. I just saved the certificate on my phone.

Should being an NRA certified range safety officer cover the training?

My NRA certified instructor did not count according to a FFL at our club.

Just do the sporting systems one that is linked above, it is basic; satisfied their stupid requirements and you can save it to your phone. It only takes as long as your finger takes to hit next at the bottom of the page.

Yup, Sporting Systems purposely made the "training" ridiculously simple.

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

A couple of months ago I seem to remember something about a state back east that had this same law go into effect.  There was a suit brought against it and the judge ruled is unconstitutional!  I tried to find it, but  no luck, maybe someone could do better.  The 10 day was not ruled out just the getting the permit.  Also they had it setup so you had to take the class each time you purchased a firearm.

California had a law that was struck down by a federal judge that required an individual who wanted a CPL to take a safety training class similar to what Washington is requiring for a purchase of a firearm.

I think it is just a power move on their part so the new deal is the WSP is going to do the background check who do you think there going to call NICS  and as far as who is going to pay for it they made the law make the taxpayers pay for it that's how they fund all their other schemes. shouldn't be charged for a constitutional right .

I’m happy to wait 10 days and pay additional fees, knowing our criminals are gonna have a harder time
getting their hands on firearms .   (Insert sarcasm emoji here).

I took their "class." I'm all certified. :)

I think they want to build a list of who and where the guns are. Easier to do if you handle all in house. Who’s going to whistle blow?

Learned my lesson when I was 19 and voted for Tom Foley in my first election.  I was young and clueless and thought I was voting for a person, not a party :bash:.   :bdid:Never did that again.
