What is it with the personal attacks today (admittedly, the first day I've been paying attention for a while)? 

Just because somebody voted a certain way for a certain reason doesn't make them an idiot. It just means you have different priorities than they do, or see things differently.

I GUARANTEE that anybody here doesn't have exactly the same take on every single issue that I do, but I don't think that makes any of all of you wrong, evil, or part of a larger conspiracy to ruin my life.  I really enjoy this group of folks for who they are and how they conduct themselves, no matter the color of their political stripe.

Let's keep it in on perspective, folks.  I believe Dale made it clear that yhis is a hunting forum, for the enjoyment of people who are passionate about hunting, no matter where they fall on the other issues.

Bumping the PSA. Just a few more days left to purchase any firearm before these new laws go into effect.

Effective January 1, 2024, HB 1143 imposes additional requirements for the sale and transfer of firearms, including the following provisions:

- Background checks are required for all firearm sales and transfers, with some limited exceptions including sales or transfers to law enforcement agencies and officers acting within the course and scope of their employment or official duties (RCW 9.41.113). Background checks are to be performed through the Washington State Patrol Firearms Background Check Program, a centralized stated system, rather than through local law enforcement agencies.

- A 10-day waiting period is required between the purchase and delivery of the firearm to the purchaser.

- The purchaser must provide proof of having completed a recognized firearm safety training program within the last five years.

Just to add to this regarding the 10 day wait.   I was told that it is a minimum of 10 business days and does not include weekends, holidays, or the day you fill out the paperwork.  Also, there is a 30 day window (one shop told me 30, another said 28) for the background to be completed and for you to pick up the gun or the whole process starts over.

I was recently told the same thing!!  I stand corrected on my previous post of the 10 days being absolute.  Really hope the WSP has the resources to keep this running.  Also hope this is challenged in court sooner than later.

I’m seeing an average of 7 days for a proceed. At this point if you haven’t already started the 4473 your chances of getting a proceed before the new year are slim.
