Wtb 20ga semiauto shotty
« on: December 07, 2023, 09:02:38 AM »
Hi! I am looking at getting my son a semi auto shotty for waterfowl. I would very much prefer an inertia driven system. I have been looking at the m3020 but thought I would check to see if someone has something sitting in a safe they would like to get rid of. Feel free to pm me with any offers thanks!!!

Located in Shelton but will travel.

Brother got one that shotgun  for his son.  It runs great bang for the buck gun. I shot one on a duck hunt. I got more doubles on ducks inside of 25 yards than any other. No recoil and if you take closer shots it works awesome.

Thanks! Yeah he needs an upgrade as he has grown and he wanted a semi. Glad to here another good review tho!

Just bought the Mossberg SA-20 bantam off gun broker for my son, couldn’t find any locally and read good reviews on them

I would prefer full size. He is getting pretty big and his youth pump is a little too small now.

The Franchi Affinity is top notch and (I think) competitively priced. GunBroker is a good way to go IMO- particularly if you're interested in finding a highly used gun

Why not move him into a full size 12 gauge?  I think both of my boys were shooting 12 gauges by 11.  Ammo is cheaper as well.

I've actually been getting quality 20ga ammo for about 15% less online and off shelves. Within it's limits I find it much more productive to shoot. The 12s have sat for years now. One os on gopher duty.

Because I also have 2 younger kiddos that will eventually hunt as well. Also my wife has finally expressed a desire to try it out. Plus as I get older I might switch to the 20. My shoulder has taken a beating between ww rafting and roofing. He likes the 20 as well and it’s what he wants. I try and concede as much as possible to make it enjoyable for him. I’ve found that by letting him choose he enjoys it a lot more and that’s a win for me.
