Like the title says.  I'd like to buy once and have something that works well in various positions.

After considerable thought and a bit of research, Magpul MS4 was my choice and it works well for me and Im not inclined to look further.   :twocents:

I have a couple Magpul MS4s, and a few Vickers Push Button slings.

Both are decent, all are quick-disconnect with multiple attach point options, and have quick adjust-ability.

  I've been looking hard at the Vickers with push buttons.

Without any context of what configuration your firearm is in, you’re going to get a mixed bag of donuts.

Is this a 20” with a front sight gas block, bayonet lug and sling swivel, with a A2 stock? Something with a handguard and stock that both have sling mount locations built in such as QD sockets?

There’s so much to choose from and what your intended use with the firearm is will help guide you.

My AR is 45" long. I'd like to know which sling y'all would recommend, please.

Where would you like the attach point?
For the rear, Butt Plate, On the stock (far side on stock is my rear attach point)?
And for the front as Dreadi said, Gas Block attach point (way out front), Hand Guard, can be anywhere on the hand guard you have an attach point. (I prefer near side just fwd of the upper receiver on the hand guard)
What type of attachment do you prefer, Wire Loop, Sling Sleeve, QD Attachment, D-ring, Para-Cord....many ways to attach a sling.
I use to use Wire Loop attach points in the Military. I knew a lot of people who used Para Cord as well. Both are very quiet.
Now I prefer QDs for everything.

FOR ME, IF I find myself in a defensive engagement that I have time ( a few minutes) to prepare, I decided I definitely want the single point option so I can leave the AR hanging in front if I need to go to the handgun or shotgun.

P-Man, any of the adjustable Slings will work. But most dual point adjustable slings can be used as single point or dual point as you wish.
I personally can't stand single point slings unless its on a short barrelled SBR. If you have to run, they tend to nail you right in the groin.
My HD weapon also has a Magpul MS4s on it, but it has been Ranger Banded to the Stock since I built it,

All of the slings mentioned above are decent slings, it just comes down to personal preference.

Pianoman, I ordered a Vickers from Blue Force.  I'd be happy to let you try it when I get it.

For a two point sling I have had very good luck with Viking Tactics.  Just add a longer piece of paracord in a contrasting color for the release.
