Agreed. If theyíre willing to do this with a deer, imagine what else they are ok with. Trash ass thieves. Hate em

No animal is worth escalating into what could be a confrontation with someone that almost certainly has a deadly weapon. Taking the higher ground and walking away was the smart move.  :twocents:

My wife was hunting with her dad when she was a teenager, he shot a nice 4 point blacktail in wilkeson.  two or three guys came up to them and said that's our deer while he was gutting it out.  The situation left him with no choice but to walk away, he's was a big man.  Happens that his brother was a game warden at the time, he gave him a call and from the license plate off the d bags truck, he had his deer back within the day.  He has since passed and we have the antlers now, love how that story ended out.  As far as some saying it's not worth it, well, somethings are just not worth letting go, I would turn into a predator if some azz hat did that to me.

To get this back on track. I was on about plan E of the morning when I sat down to glass and this guy walked behind me at 30 yards.

And my best whitetail. I would post my best blacktail but none have made it into the "branched" category.

Shot it and dropped it in it's tracks. Had to make it down a canyon that was extremly verticle, mostly shale rock, and across a deep creek. When I made it up to the buck there was a man sitting on my buck with his brother standing by smoking. They had already tagged my deer. I told them I had shot that buck from across the canyon. The older brother said, "Your not taking this buck...my tag is already on it." It was right before dark, didn't want to argue or get in a fist fight over a deer. Their excuse was, "We thought someone lost it." Due to the fact he already tagged it, it becomes his "legal" property. I could have called the Game Department and Sheriff. However, I didn't want to deal with all of the hastle. I personally would never do that to anyone. It was an absolutely terrible and dejecting feeling. I hope none of you ever have to experience that.
Man that sucks bad. Iíve read lots of stories like this, more so with elk than deer but none the less. Every time I read one I think ďI hope every time that thief looks at that buck on the wall heís reminded of what a spineless loser he is and the fact that heíll never really be a hunter.Ē

It happens a lot more than one would think.
Don't ask how I know. That feeling does suck.
Even worse when it's your biggest buck.
Spent the time ,working hard for it.
I feel ya bro.

Great bucks everyone, stud bucks for sure.
Back to lurking and the shadows.
Good day you all.
