picatinny rails for knight bighorn muzzleloader
« on: April 18, 2024, 08:42:42 AM »
Any one know where I can get one of these rails? I found this one in the below link but it says it doesnt work for a bighorn, I found one on Knights site that looks just like it and said it works with the bighorn but out of stock. You think this will work? Also posted the knight one from their website.

It specifically says it will not fit a bighorn :dunno:

Scope bases for a remington 541 work on the BH but I couldn't tell you if a one piece 541 rail will work or not. May have to go 2 piece bases.

Ya i know but the knight page one that looks just like it says it fits all the models that the first link shows plus the bighorn. I emailed them to see what they say.

Looks like a 541 rail will not work on a BH. Distance between front and rear is way too long.

Not sure why they say the rail in your original link won't work. Spacing looks correct to me :dunno:

They said the holes line up but the extraction port is bigger on the bighorn they say. Mite just buy it and see. As long as I can get my cap on it should be fine.

I think you're gonna be good to go with it.  Knight lists 2.18 on spacing between front and rear and that rail shows 2.18 between front and rear.

I'd personally go 0 moa over a 20 moa rail  :twocents:

Yeah that jives with what I just measured on mine.

Let us know if it ends up working or if the longer extraction port causes an issue capping.

There would be little to no room to get a cap into and out of the rifle with the scope base there. Of course you can always modify or cut the base to achieve access.

Knight got back to me and said the leupold 541 two piece works on the big horn, they were cheap so  bought a set.
