Muzzy Mission Quality!!!
« on: June 14, 2024, 09:31:12 AM »
Well Been along time for any Quality Tag for me now the work begins.   I hunt normally the clockum but never the mission side for elk.   Do see them occasionally.   Feeling kind of overwhelmed where i should start since been waiting for 25 years I'm not sure what class of bull to hold out for.   I know the past permit holders have been shooting 6x but are the 320 bulls or are the 350+ bulls.    And not going to lie I will take any help I can get  :)      And I can help with any Desert Tag holders   I  look at it this was these permits are so hard to draw we might as well help them find a quality deer or elk of a lifetime.   Thanks again if any willing to share info.   And i will post how the hunt goes..

Don’t hold your breath for a 400 bull either!! Solid unit with great bulls in it but there only a few bull of that caliber around and between tribal hunting and Raffle and Governor tag and private land issues there hard to come by. Do some homework and Knock on some doors and get access to some orchards bordering the state land and you will do good. There’s no reason you should at least get a solid opportunity at a 340-380 caliber bull.

it was a joke. Obviously the tag holder doesn’t know what the unit holds.

I usually hunt the elk in the 328 329. And see them in 251 and I know there are nice bulls around.  Now the work begins a 400 world be nice for sure but this muzzleloader.   I have already spent some time in there already.

They’re allowing 1x fixed scopes and red dots this year too if you haven’t heard yet. Might give you an opportunity to poke out a little farther.

I did see the changes I like the way it was but as i get older I notice something to clarify my sight on the end of the barrel or I wear my glasses and the target now becomes a little blurry.    I would like to try the vortex 1x but they are slow getting them out to the retailers.   Anyone have any other 1x options?
