Hunting Washington has a search tool that can used by members to find information about a particular hunt or topic. With members drawing permits for certain areas and looking for information recently, the search tool is a good place to start.
The search tool can be activated by clicking “Search” in the tool bar in the upper left.
Once the search tool is open, enter the word or words you wish to search for. Note that the “Match all words” option is selected by default. This means that every word you enter must be found. In this example, “Alkali” is the search parameter which means any post containing “Alkali” and matching the other parameters will be found. If “Alkali 123” had been entered, only posts containing both of the those words would be found. It’s best to only enter a few key words if this option is selected. The option “Match any words” can also be used but can tend to produce an excessive number of results.
The search can be limited by age. For example, you can search for posts 0 to 60 days old.
The search can be limited by user, so only posts by the specified user are displayed.
The search can be limited by board. For example, the search could be limited to only posts in the “Elk Hunting” board.
Once all parameters have been entered, press the “Search” icon at the bottom of the page.
Note that search results can be displayed in order either by “Most relevant results first” by “Most recent topics first”, and a few other options.
Happy searching.
