Had grouse hunting go terribly wrong yesterday. A bathroom stop and a location bugle turned into an evening of work.

Highlight of the day was getting to meet @Dan-o  and his son though. I sure like that feller :brew:
@Karl Blanchard
I guarantee you, the pleasure was all ours.
Sharing camp was a highlight, even if you do shoot 1 elk per 2 hours invested.

I can't thank you enough for taking my son in after those elk.
He loved every minute of it.

Per my son, Karl did everything humanly possible to position and reposition my son to shoot the elk while Karl called, but the elk eventually insisted that Karl shoot it.

And they eat so much better than Mule Deer!

All I hear is Karl pushed a kid down in the dirt and probably used his back as a rest.

All kidding aside, you are the man Karl. Great memories for all involved.

Awesome spike! Almost reminds me of some of the African critters

Shot this (smaller) 5x5 on Wednesday.  120 yards with a sabot and a Swift A-Frame 350 grain 45/70 bullet in my 50 Cal. muzzleloader.  Complete pass through taking out both lungs.  Bull ran 30 yards and stovepiled.
