Ford Engine Questions?

My 3.5 ecoboost has 205k miles on it. Not flawless but not terrible. My other has 165k miles on it. The earlier ecoboost turbos failed once in a while. Not really a thing with the newer ones so far.
In a big transit you don’t have to worry about million dollar water pumps that the explorers have.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Mines a 2017 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost had to have the motor replaced at 88k luckily under warranty. Now at 100k I’m constantly getting misfires.  Love the truck I feel like ford has the best interiors and looks but don’t like the problems mine has had. Good luck!

My 2015 3.5 EB has 170k and needed a coil pack to fix a misfire.
I did need new exhaust manifolds at about 150k....I paid $1800 to have those done.
Also, boost regulator valve was a DIY for about $50 to fix an underboost code.
Great rig.
Drives like it's a year old and has spent plenty of days on backcountry cobble.

People on here are tired of hearing me bash Toyota but my F150 is 10x the rig and I'm at 170,000 miles so I think I'm qualified to make a few observations.

My BIL has the Explorer with the 4 banger turbo. It rips. Has over 230k not a single issue.

New plugs, catch can, and new electronic turbo blowoff/bypass/regulating valve is what fixed my misfire issues. Most specifically that valve. I had a tear in mine. 155,000 on my 3.5 ecoboost and it has never ran better.

Just bought a 2022 Explorer ST 3.0 twin turbo.   Black on black That thing smokes.  Have wasted some Tesla's off stop lights.  I haven't owned a Ford in a while so just following along to see what everyone has found.  Thinking down the road of replacing my Ram 2500 but think I want to run that one in the ground being it is a 6.2 hemi and you won't be finding those new anymore.

Seems like the '21+ 3.5 EBs are solid, as the previous issues have been fixed. Only have 6xxx miles on mine, but it's so smooth, quiet and powerful it constantly impresses me. The mileage could be better, and it's eco OR boost, certainly not both.
