That's a great buck, congrats

That’s a giant. Congrats

I’m not very good at telling stories haha but anyway, when I drew the tag I knew exactly who I wanted to hunt it with and luckily for me he was all in. I scouted the area a bit in the summer but was fairly limited on time with new twins and a 3 year old at home. Season was coming up so me and my friend went and scouted a couple days right before season without much luck. Ended up being fogged in the first 3 days so we busted timber and seen some nice bucks but no shooters. Day 4 we could finally see so we got up high and glassed  all day and seen lots of bucks and one that was very tempting,  but the weather for day 5 was supposed to be even better so we held off on that buck. Morning if day 5 we got to our knob before light and glassed all morning without turning up much, around 10 we were packing up to go check out another drainage when my buddy spotted a big buck miles away across the valley. First glance we knew it was a buck worth getting a closer look so we got over there and spotted him bedded at 509 yards, without any way to get any closer I laid down in the snow with the rifle and waited about 30 minutes  for him to stand. I hate to say it but I missed the first shot and was lucky enough to get another chance and put him down in his tracks. Then the celebrating began haha
